Print Specifications Requirements

• All colour elements of your artwork should be in CMYK format.
• PDFs should not contain Spot Colours Elements within them.
• Images supplied as RGB will be automatically converted to CMYK when we output to plate. We cannot accept any responsibility or liability for any unforeseen colour shifts caused by this process.
• Total Area Coverage for newspaper titles should not exceed 240%. Total Area Coverage for magazine titles should not exceed 320%
• Tone Value Increase (Dot Gain) Newsprint (Web Fed Press) 20-22%. Tone Value Increase (Dot Gain) Magazines (Sheet Fed Press) 15-18%
• Dot range: Min dot 4%, Maximum dot 92%

Image Resolution

• Our Standard Newsprint pages are output at 300dpi
• Photographic-type images within the artwork are processed to
• Newspaper advertising: 202dpi
• Magazine advertising: 300dpi

Type and Text

• Black text must be specified as 100% K (Black) only and should not be composed of composite colours.
• Reverse type should be a minimum of 10pt in a single colour, and avoid serif typefaces where possible
• Coloured type should be a minimum of 10pt for registration purposes.
• If using True Type fonts, artwork should be flattened before submitting as TT fonts are liable to corrupt in press

File Names: Files must be named with the URN (Unique Reference Number) provided by your booking agent or National World sales representative.
